Jing

I spent the last few weeks working with Jeannine Ortiz on the web 2.0 tool Jing. I must say...pretty impressive. This web 2.0 tool is very fluid and it MAKES SENSE! There really is not a lot of guessing involved when working this tool. It is often difficult to come across a product or tool that really is successful. Of course they try to hook you with buying the "pro" version of it, but really it is good enough that I cannot see why I would want to buy it! I will post a video outline after the weekend for your perusal. You may want to consider using it when creating your own video!

Workshop

This week I attended a workshop that was setup through my grad school program that explored the uses of a web2.0 tool called Jing.

" Jing is a fast and easy way to capture images and create videos of what you see on your screen. Sometimes, using words to express yourself through online conversations just isn't enough. With Jing, you can capture what you want to say with a picture or a video instantly. Pictures and videos really do say a thousand words, and you can capture them all with Jing. I like to use Jing when making tutorials. I can capture any screen shot I want. After I have saved it, I can add arrows or caption windows. Or I may just decide to make a video instead. The best part about Jing is that you can download this neat program off the internet for free." Link to Source

Over the next week I am going to explore with Jing quite a bit. I think this may be useful for reviewing the grammar with my students.

Beginning Thoughts...

The first decision that I have to make is the format for these videos. I know that I will be posting the videos on my website (mrssepps.weebly.com), so I will have to first figure out how I am going to post these videos (when they are created) on my website. I will be looking into this for the next few days. I will also be thinking about what software or Web 2.0 tool I would like to use in the coming weeks. I would like to have this decided by the end of next week. Check back to get an update!
