Video 2 Posted!!

I decided to continue with my grammar screen casts for now and have created my second video. My second video is very similar to the style of video one. I am reexamining "Complete Sentences". This video includes fragments and run-ons. It is designed so that the students could fast forward to review one or the other. The video first discusses the characteristics of a complete sentence. I then go on to discuss the characteristics of a fragment, give examples, and give the kids a chance to correct a few fragments. I then move on to the characteristics of a run-on sentence, give examples, and then give the students a chance to identify each of the three topics discussed in the video.

More than Just Review for Grammar!

I am beginning to think about what my next steps will be. I am working on Video 2 and 3 which I will post soon, but I want to expand to beyond grammar. I love the idea of grammar videos, but I think it would be interesting to see what kind of results I would have with some type of technology video. I know that many "how-to" videos exist on the internet, but I rarely see the kids use these types of videos. I think they want to hear their information from someone that they know and trust. I am thinking about doing some type of video for an upcoming unit on peer reviewing using Google.
